Due to the developmental move which the city of Dubai is currently undergoing as well as the spread of various projects, some freehold lands have completely or partially suffered. That is why the government tends to compensate the owners of such cases financially , by appraising the effected piece of land and then ordering the municipality to give the owner an indicated sum via the compensation section in the Dubai land department. Or by giving them another piece of land in place of their own effected one, where a formal letter is sent from the municipality to the department indicating the type of compensation so that they could register the new land in the name of the owner after making sure there are no restrictions on the original land. After which the deed of title is sent to His Highness for approval and the new deeds are announced by being published in local newspapers.

In this case, a letter from the Municipality should be sent to the department, indicating the type of compensation. In turn, the department registers the new land in the name of the owners whose property is affected, after making sure that there are no hindrances on the land affected.
