Welcome to Taqyeem, Dubai’s Real Estate Appraisal Centre part of the Dubai Land Department. We hope to give you all the relevant information you’ll need from us in this website.

Taqyeem (means “valuation” in Arabic) was set up in 2009 to regulate the real estate Valuation profession. Our aim is to:

  • License Valuation companies (with RERA and DED)
  • Register individual Valuers

Our work is government by the relevant Dubai and UAE Federal Laws. However the two main documents we work under are:

  • Dubai Government Regulation (xx) for 2011 (not issued) regarding “Regulating Property Valuers in the Emirate of Dubai”
  • The Emirates Book Valuation Standards (EBVS) (click here to download)

We’re committed to creating and maintaining a world-class body of Valuers in Dubai and as thus we expect all Valuers to act honorably and ethically and abide by the EBVS. We also expect and require Valuers to undertake CPD (Continuous Professional Development). Although not compulsory, we expect the best Valuation companies to carry the appropriate level of Professional Indemnity Insurance (PI) and encourage all customers to check the level of PI cover before hiring a Valuer.

From our side, we are proud Institutional Members of the International Valuation Standards Council (IVSC) since 2010. We are also Associate Members of The European Group of Valuers’ Associations (TEGoVA) since 2009. We have a signed MOU with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) since 2008. We have good relations with the main Valuation standards-setting bodies worldwide as well as various varied Valuation professions across the globe.
