Located to the south-east of the Arabian Peninsula along the shores of the pristine waters of the Arabian Gulf, Dubai is the second-largest emirate in the United Arab Emirates, and is a leading business hub that has become a magnet for business exhibitions and conferences in the Middle East.

The Dubai Creek divides the city into two parts; Deira in the northern section is the main trade center of the emirate, while Bur Dubai in the southern part is the old part of the city, characterized by distinctive architecture and old souks and roads. Sheikh Zayed Road, which runs south towards Abu Dhabi, was completely transformed and is now a major landmark in Dubai, lined by skyscrapers and unique towers that house modern offices, residences and shopping malls.

Dubai offers the world’s most attractive investment environment in the real estate industry, which has surpassed the world’s top cities. This has earned Dubai top ranks in international and global indices specialized in the areas of land registration, documentation and real estate transparency.

It would not have been possible for Dubai, which has sparked the construction boom in 2004, to succeed at this without a sound real estate investment environment – which in turn would not have solely pushed the emirate towards the top if not for the unprecedented patronage and support of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.

Since the very beginning, it was clear that the success of real estate development requires establishing the appropriate environment and the right conditions for a unique and sustainable achievement. Therefore, the Dubai Land Department (LD) has directed all its efforts to build a solid foundation for such an investment environment through:

  • An integrated legislative system that protects the rights of all real estate contractual parties.
  • A detailed and comprehensive structure for all activities related to the real estate market.
  • Swift and efficient response that helps eliminate obstacles that may face corporate and individual investors.
  • Enhancing real estate services available to investors in a way the meets the requirements of a profitable market.

Naturally, these broad aspects are broken down into more specialized channels of specialty that require extensive and continuous efforts, for the industry to move forward alongside the economic development path of Dubai, and the UAE in general. As such, real estate development has become a vital tool for the execution of the country’s strategic urban development plans, by providing some of the world’s most advanced facilities.

With a host of one-of-a-kind architectural landmarks such as the Burj Khalifa – the world’s tallest structure in the heart of the Arabian Desert, Dubai has now become a beacon of success on the world map. Standing proudly as the jewel of the Dubai skyline, Burj Khalifa reflects a perfect harmony between architectural creativity, great attention to detail and high aesthetic value. Not far away from this great feat stands the world’s largest shopping mall; Dubai Mall, the world’s tallest fountain; Dubai Fountain, as well as other key projects including Dubai Metro, Palm Islands, Burj Al Arab, Dubai Marina and a lot more.

Dubai has become a much sought-after tourism destination for residents of the world’s major cities like New York, Paris and Hong Kong, as the emirate’s name became synonymous with great and unique landmarks. Going forward and accepting nothing short of the top ranks, Dubai continues on its path for greatness, taking to heart the words of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, who said that “the word (impossible) is not in Dubai’s dictionary”.
